- Virupaksha Temple: Perhaps the most famous tourist attraction in Hampi that attracts several visitors throughout the year, the Virupaksha Temple has been standing since the 7th century. It is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is about 50 meters high. It is one of the oldest temples in India, a UNESCO World Heritage site situated on the banks of the river Tungabhadra. It is a marvel defined by its art, receiving a footfall of several devotees especially during the annual chariot festival.
- Vittala Temple: Another major attraction of Hampi, the Vittala Temple emerges as the best architectural wonder in this region. The temple is made in the dravidian architectural style and is dedicated to Lord Vishu. It is said that this temple was built using many granite rocks and having numerous halls and corridors. The ruins of Vittalapura, an ancient settlement outside this temple, exists to this day. From complex carvings of a stone chariot to majestic paintings, this temple is a must visit.
- Hampi Bazaar: As the name suggests, this is a popular bazaar and a core attraction of local heritage. Visitors who wish to explore the cultural heritage of Hampi may visit this bazaar. From souvenirs to Hampi’s special artefacts and local cuisine, this bazaar is a central hub for all.
- Lotus Mahal: Following in the footsteps of the other grand monuments, the Lotus Mahal of Hampi is another architectural gem. Its shape is marked by its lotus bud design, a two storey high mahal within the Zenana Enclosure. It is a testament of Indo-Islam art which had been thriving, a structure that has never been invaded or destroyed by foreign conquerors. The patterns of this mahal resemble birds and sea creatures, a total of 24 pillars that support the main building and balcony.
- Matanga Hill : The Matanga Hill is a prominent spot for trekking and rock climbing in Hampi. This hill is named after the Matanga, a sage which meditated here. It offers stunning views of the surrounding area, an attraction which has even been mentioned in the Ramayana.
- Hippie Island : Also known as the Virapapur Gaddi, the Hippie Island is famous for its sunset points. It lies on the other side of the Tungabhadra River, yet remains a popular local attraction near Hampi. Unlike the ruins of Hampi, the Hippie Island is far more relaxing with its tranquil environment. - Queens Bath : The Queen’s bath was a prominent bathing ground for the royal women of the Vijayanagara. While its grandeur may not be as appealing like the others, its symbolism is very significant. The area is surrounded by decorated balconies, beautiful greenery, arched corridors and a well functioning drainage system. This reflects the engineering excellence of that period, reflecting the luxurious life of the queen.
- Sanapur Lake : A must visit near Hampi, this lake is surrounded by lush full greenery and rocks. In contrast to the Humpi ruins and landmarks, this lake has more of a peaceful and calm environment. The boulder hills act as a perfect champion to this place, increasing the beauty of this natural lake. This lake is also used for irrigation purposes, offering boat rides and picnic opportunities.

- Trekking - There are few hills with trekking trails in Hampi, the notable ones include Anjaneya Hill and Matanga Hill.
